Ladder Fetish

Saturday, December 9th, 2006

At the Wenatchee Community Center, Pro Wrestling Beyond put on another great event. The show started with a disappointment, we were informed that Dash Venture wasn't allowed to wrestle that evening and a slight lineup change was in order. After the announcement about Dash, the matches began.

Azul Angel vs Hoss Tull

The first match on the bill was the crowd favorite and high-flyer Azul Angel versus over a quarter ton of Hoss Tull. Hoss won the match but the cheers were all for Azul.

After the Hoss and Azul match, the crowd was given the pleasure of a few words from the chump...err champ, Cedric the Hitman. We were then informed of the stipulations of the Dog Pile Match. Six guys in the ring. In order for someone to be out, the other must all pin one, until only one is left. The last man in the ring will get a shot at Cedric's title at the end of the night.

Dog Pile Match

The Dog Pile Match featured Mr. Sexy, Slim Thug, Death Eater, Prozakk, the mammoth psychotic Marion Gein, and a DJ Claudio. The first one out was DJ Claudio, but not before he had an unpleasant run in with Marion Gein.

The next out was Slimm Thug, who took quite a beating. After Slimm Thug was eliminated, ProZakk, Mr. Sexy, and Death Eater decided to team up against Marian Gein. After a few vein attempts where Marian sent all three wrestlers flying into air as they tried to pin him, they were finally able to get the upper hand and eliminate him. Next out was Mr. Sexy. ProZakk and Death Eater battled it out with Death Eater finally getting the upper hand. After Death Eater won the match, Cedric jumped in the ring and beat down his future opponent in hopes to give him the edge later that night.

Dog Chain Match: Ronnie Angel vs Sloth

After the dog pile match and senseless beating by Cedric was a match between "The Greaser" Ronnie Angel and Sloth. To win the match, the wrestlers had to climb a ladder to get a dog chain, which they then had to hit their opponent with. Sloth, the crowd favorite, decided to turn "Ronnie the greaser" into "Oscar the grouch" by sticking him head first into a garbage can. He then preceded to parade him, his garbage can covered head, and his shiny new boots around all four corners of the ring bashing him into the ring posts along the way. After Ronnie escaped the garbage can, ladders and pain ensued.

Frying Pan Match: Aaron Bolo vs "Smooth" Steve Rush

The next match was a frying pan match between everyone's favorite, Aaron Bolo, and the leather clad "Smooth" Steve Rush. Steve Rush gave a little speech that was appropriately booed by the crowd. The object of the match was to use a ladder to retrieve a frying pan hanging over the center of the ring. The first wrestler to hit the other with the frying pan was the winner. Although, I think once someone is hit with a frying pan in the face, their probably not going to be able to finish the match. This proved to be true as Bolo literally shattered the frying pan over "Smooth" Steve Rush's face. Note the picture of him on the ground with slobber oozing from his mouth.

Syphon Taurus vs Christopher Ryseck

After they finished picking up pieces of frying pan from all over the Wenatchee Community Center the next match began, Syphon Taurus verses "The Ideal Reflection" Christopher Ryseck in a no hits to the face match. Ryseck tried fooling the ref by telling him Syphon hit him in the face while the ref wasn't looking. The crowd quickly let the ref know what really happened.

Scorpio Knightmare vs Kellen Raeth
Dash saying a few wordsNext, Dash Venture made an announcement, not as a wrestler, but as an attendee of the event. It wasn't exactly pleasant or flattering to the other wrestlers, the crowd, or Wenatchee in general. After the crowd showed their appreciation to Dash and his speech. Dash's friend Kellen Raeth started his match against local favorite Scorpio Knightmare. Even with no frying pans, ladders, tables or chairs, this match was intense. One of the highlights of the evening. All the wrestlers from the back had to come out and separate these two after the match.

Heavyweight Title Match: Death Eater vs Cedric the Hitman

The championship match, Cedric the Hitman versus Death Eater. As typical, Cedric has to cheat to win. Don't worry though, he gets whats coming to him at the end of the night.

TLC Match: Aaron Bolo vs Ronnie Angel

The final match of the night was a TLC (tables, ladders and chairs) match between Aaron Bolo and Ronnie Angel. The winner would hold the Extreme Video Championship belt. This match had multiple chairs, two tables, a ladder, a shattered mirror (courtesy of Christopher Ryseck) and a lot of pain. I clearly remember the combined "gasp" from the audience when one of the tables didn't break upon high flying impact. Lets just say, it looked incredibly painful. The match turned into a full blown frenzy when the whole back room came out to join in. Bolo went through one table with the help of Ronnie Angel and Syphon Taurus the other with a suplex from Cedric. The Greaser won the belt and the night ended with Cedric being rolled out of the arena in a coffin.

The floor is littered with debrisThis was definitely the most brutal and dangerous of all the Pro Wrestling Beyond events that I have seen. The crowd was ear splitting and rowdy, just the way I like it.
