Wars of the Great Outdoors

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Their first show in Ellensburg, Washington, Pro Wrestling Beyond featured Wars of the Great Outdoors on July 29th at the Hal Holmes Community Center. With tables, ladders, chairs, and... coolers(?), the show was louder and more intense than ever, with a 14 man Battle Royal, Larkin O'Shea getting his face busted open by a mirror, and a few new faces including the Toxic Diva and Kevin Cook.
The Battle Royal

The evening began with a ring filling Battle Royal including Dr. Kliever, Kellen Raeth, Derek Drexl, Hoss Tull, Christopher Ryseck, Ronnie Angel, Priest, Mr. Sexy, Scorpio Knightmare, J.D. Mason, Kevin Cook, Kid Ego, Larkin O'Shea, and Aaron Bolo. It was the first time I had seen Derek Drexl get in the ring to actually fight. It was fun to watch him get slapped by Bolo and get the wind knocked out of him in the corner by Larkin O'Shea. The last two men standing in the ring were Aaron Bolo and "The Greaser" Ronnie Angel. The Grease put Bolo over the top but before Bolo let go of the rope he pulled the Grease over the top rope and to the floor winning the Battle Royal. It wasn't over yet though, after winning the match Priest started mouthing off at Bolo allowing Death Eater to come up behind him and knock him down. Deather Eater then dragged Bolo into the ring and delivered a devastating choke slam.

Dr. Kliever vs Marion Gein
Dr. Kliever in his 'I hate this town' t-shirtAfter a few words from the well dressed champ and Travis Marcum, Dr. Kliever made his entrance followed by the very disturbing entrance of Marion Gein. Kliever worked surgically on the leg of Gein to take the giant down. Kliever won the match, but not by pinfall. Gein was disqualified. Kliever took a few cheap shots and left the ring. Gein soon got up and crawled after him.

Christopher Ryseck vs Larkin O'Shea

After choking Larkin on the ropes, Ryseck pulls out his cup and clubs Larkin in the head sending him to the mat. The ref, of course, sees nothing. A kick to the throat finally sends O'Shea to the floor. Ryseck doesn't take any chances though and while pinning him sticks his feet on the ropes. Larkin complains to the ref about Ryseck's cheating but Ryseck stops Larkin short by shattering a mirror over his face. Kevin Cook comes to the ring to see if Larkin is alright. Larkin, still confused, mistakes Cook for Ryseck and gives him a devastating pile driver which leaves him motionless in the center of the ring.

Da Deadly Arts vs Prozakk

Prozakk returns to face Clayton Devlyn after their run in at the last show. Clayton says he isn't allowed to wrestle in Washington State because he is to dangerous, but he has someone to fill in for him. He would have to wrestle the Deadly Arts tag team of Pointy Ninja and Masked Burlap. The Deadly arts brought out a table, chair, ladder and even a cooler. Pointy Ninja flew off the top rope and onto the table with Prozakk on it. It snapped in half with a slight delay. After Prozakk put Burlap into a straight jacket, Pointy Ninja sent him into the ladder propped up on the side of the ring. While Pointy Ninja was getting the cooler, Burlap brought a chair into the ring and slammed Prozakk's neck into it and then wrapped it around his leg before jumping off the ropes onto it. Prozakk was able to knock Pointy Ninja into the cooler where he pinned him for the win.

Kellen Raeth vs J.D. Mason

After a brief intermission Kellen and Mason entered the ring. The match ended when Kellen pulled a chair from under the ring and knocked Mason out. The near sighted ref finally recovered from being knocked down and counted Mason out. Kellen tries to nail J.D. with the chair again after the match but misses and knocks himself down. This gave Mason time to grab the chair and crack it over Kellen's head. After Kellen scurried out of the ring, Mason issued him a challenge. Next show, a tables match.

Star Child and Cosmic River vs Hoss Tull and Ronnie Angel

After Drexl and Grease finished running their mouths they told Cosmic River they would remove his mask if he lost the match. After coming high off the ropes, Cosmic pinned Hoss and won the match. Drexl came into the ring and knocked out Star Child with his cane before turning it on Cosmic River. Then, even though the hippies won, they proceded to gang up on him and remove his mask.

Death Eater vs Aaron Bolo
Priest at ringsideThe match featured a lot of high flying action but was cut short when a chair was used to bring Bolo down, and after Death Eater delivered a devastating choke slam and took a leap from the top rope onto Bolo, Bolo was counted out.

PWB Championship Title Match: Travis Marcum vs Cedric the Hitman
Cedric the Hitman defending his championship titleCedric entered the ring to boos and Marcum to a welcoming crowd. Part way into the match, Christopher Ryseck came to ringside with a girl on his arm. Although you would wonder if he even knew she was there since he couldn't stop looking at himself in his mirror. After the ref gets knocked out, Ryseck and the girl, the Toxic Diva, enter the ring. Ryseck tries to break his mirror over Marcum's head but Marcum gives him a kick to the gut instead. Cedrid was able to retain his title, but decided to punish Marcum a little more. With the help of the Toxic Diva and Ryseck, they did just that. Marcum was finally saved by Cosmic River, Prozakk, and J.D. Mason.
